

Wedding Receptions: Frequently Asked Questions General Inquiries Q: Is there enough parking available for all of our guests? A: Yes, we have 3 parking lots that can accommodate up to 300 people. Q: Is there a room that the bridal party can use to get ready? Is there a safe place to put valuables? A: The bridal party is welcome to use all of the amenities of our locker rooms. Valuables will be stored in a locked room with a safe upon request. Q: Can I bring decorations? A: Yes. However, confetti, rice, and glitter are not permitted. If there is excessive clean-up required there will be a fee of $100.00. Food- & Beverage-Related Q: Can we bring in our own food? A: In most cases, no. The chef and kitchen staff at Glendale Country Club must prepare food. However if you want to bring in desserts or a cake, there are certain charges that apply: • Wedding cake cutting: $1.25 per person • Pastries- plating and serving: $1.95 per person You are welcome to bring in your own food for the late night snack. Charges will be applied if applicable, based on the labour required for set-up and serving of the food. *Please note, that pork and pork-derived products are not permitted in the clubhouse and banquet facilities. Q: Can we take home the extra food and beverages? A: Food that is not served to guests will not be permitted to be taken home. As well, no food shall be taken home from a buffet. Your guests may take home their meals if they do not finish them, but Glendale Golf & Country Club assumes no responsibility for the safety and quality of the food after it is removed from the premises. The removal of prepared beverages is prohibited. Q: Can we bring our own alcohol? A: A permit issued by the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission must accompany all alcohol being brought to the premises. The permit must list all of the items being brought to the premises. Please note that you will be charged the following fees: • $9.00 (+ tax) per person for corkage • $13.50 per hour for a bartender (minimum 3 hours); if the number of guests is greater than 80 people, 2 bartenders will be required • If wine service is required, there will be an extra fee of $4.00 (+ tax) per bottle Q: Are we charged for extra meals if not all of our guests show up? A: Yes. Please note that if there are extra guests, there will be an extra charge applied based on the number of guests beyond the confirmed number. Fees and Charges Q: How much is the deposit? Can I get it back if I don’t decide to have my wedding here? A: The deposit required is $1000.00 to reserve your date for the reception. All deposits are non-refundable. Q: When is the deadline for payment for the wedding reception? A: 100% of the balance (minus the bar billing) must be paid 7 days prior to the event. Full balance, including the cost of liquor consumed must be paid in full, 7 days after receiving the invoice. Q: What are some of the extra charges and fees that we can expect? A: Some of the charges that will be applied for your reception include: • GST, PST • Gratuity of 15% (please note that GST is applied also to the service charge) • SOCAN if playing music or having dancing after dinner • Other charges may also apply |
