Golf Course

You don’t get to host a major national tournament like the Canadian Amateur Championship, unless your club and its membership, is considered both “physically and mentally ready”. Back in 1996, Glendale certainly met the requirements necessary to host this prestigious event and the qualities that set the club apart that year remain in full force today. This year, Glendale will host the Canadian Amateur Senior Golf Championship in September.
An eminently playable course, Glendale offers 6,739 yards and 18 holes of excellent golf. Sloping greens, contoured fairways and multiple hazards are plenty challenging for casual players and pros alike. Water comes into play on 11 holes; grass, sand bunkers, mounding and strategically placed stands of trees add to the challenges of Glendale. The beauty and ambience of the Par 3 river holes (numbers 9 and 16), built on the rolling banks of the Assiniboine River leave golfers with a feeling of relaxation – but only if you hit the green with your tee shot! Four different tees are available on every hole to allow players of all levels of skill to enjoy their game at Glendale. Glendale is an exciting, demanding course of championship caliber that is a delight to play again and again. |
