Built in 1997, the Glendale Pro Shop and club storage area encompasses a spacious 6,840 square feet. All the latest equipment, clothing and accessories are available, as are lessons from Director of Golf, Jim Steep or any members of his professional staff. Each of these golf professionals provides members and public golfers with expert advice on the latest golf equipment and instruction.
In addition to Jim Steep (who also is the Head Professional), Glendale Golf and Country Club has, an Associate Professional, two Assistant Professionals, and five Retail Associates in our Pro Shop. Each professional staff member has been certified by the Canadian Professional Golfers' Association
The Glendale Pro Shop team specializes in club fitting and golf swing analysis, custom fitting the equipment sold through the Pro Shop to each individual. Stocking a wide variety of clubs, clothes, shoes and accessories and retailing at competitive prices, the Pro Shop caters to the members and the golfing public in addition to corporate and tournament functions. Jim Steep, Director of Golf
Jim has been a CPGA professional at Glendale for more than 30 years. He has twice served as president of the Manitoba PGA and has been voted the Manitoba PGA Professional of the Year and Merchandiser of the Year by his peers. Jim has been Callaway Golf’s Canadian Club Fitter of the year 3 times in 2003, 2004, and 2007. In 2003, Jim’s Pro Shop was number one in the world in wood & iron fittings with Callaway Golf and continues to be one of the top fitters in Canada every year.

Rob Bell, CPGA Associate Professional
Rob Bell has been a Glendale Pro Shop Staff member for 18 seasons. Rob was the recipient of the Tex Noble Award in 2001, honoring him with receiving the highest mark on the CPGA Class ‘A’ exam. Rob turned professional in 1996, and teaches physical education full-time at Winnipeg’s Elmwood High School. At Glendale, Rob specializes in working with the Club’s Junior Members and is the coordinator of all major Club events.

Tim Tabor, CPGA Assistant Professional Tim has been an assistant professional at Glendale for the past 11 seasons. Tim includes custom club fitting and club repair in his wide range of specialties. Tim has been credited with the success of many outside tournaments and corporate functions at Glendale and also arranges many of the clinics at Glendale.

Andrew Steep, CPGA Assistant Professional Andrew is a graduate of Professional Golf Management at Camosun College in Victoria, where he received the prestigious Bryan McWha Award for highest GPA in the program. 2009 is Andrew’s 11th season as a member of Glendale’s professional staff. In his inaugural season as a CPGA Professional in 2009, he finished 3rd in the Manitoba PGA Player-of-the-Year standings, compiling two wins during the year.

Cathy Derewianchuk, Pro Shop Manager Cathy has been employed in the Pro Shop for 12 seasons, and as Pro Shop Manager, oversees day-to-day operations as well as specific event planning. Cathy organizes Glendale’s Monday Night Women’s “Nine, Wine & Dine” league along with the “President’s Wednesday Night Mixer” and the “Friday Night Couples Nine & Dine.”. Cathy is also employed part-time with Bowls Manitoba and is the executive director of the Manitoba Blind Sports Association.
